Santen seeks to identify social issues and expectations for us through communication with stakeholders, in order to reflect such findings in our sustainability promotion activities.
Various ESG indexes are used to benchmark responsible investment. ESG indexes evaluate companies from environmental, social and governance (ESG) perspective, with the aim of promoting responsible investment from a long-term viewpoint. Santen Group's sustainability promotion efforts have been evaluated from the perspective of ESG and selected in ESG indexes inside and outside of Japan.

Japan's Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF), the world's largest institutional investor, has selected four ESG indexes for Japanese equities and has started investment based on those indexes. The company is a constituent stock in four indexes.
