The Santen Group seeks to identify social issues and expectations for us through communication with stakeholders, in order to reflect such findings in our CSR activities.

Selected for Sustainability indexes

Various sustainability indexes are used to benchmark responsible investment. Sustainability indexes evaluate companies from the non-financial, environment, society and governance (ESG) perspective, in the aim of responsible investing from a long-term viewpoint. Santen has been selected in the following sustainability indexes thanks to our CSR activities.

MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index (WIN) An index by MSCI (United States). The index selects companies in various sectors that excel in gender diversity from among the top 500 Japanese stocks by market capitalization.
SNAM Sustainability Index An index composed of corporations that achieved above-standard ESG scores in corporate surveys conducted by Sompo Risk Management & Health Care Inc. (in terms of E: environmental assessments) and by Integrex Inc. (in terms of S and G: social and corporate governance assessments).

February 2018 Santen was selected for the winner of the Corporate Governance of the year 2017 by the Japan Association of Corporate Directors.

February 2018 Santen was selected as one of the organizations (White 500) recognized jointly by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Nippon Kenko Kaigi under the 2018 Certified Health and Productivity Management Organization Recognition Program consecutively from 2017.
